Minion of the Lochkray
THE SANOK
Character detail from the stain glass window of an Orthodox Church in
Romania.
Qualities of this unidentified creature are very similar to descriptions of Sanok.
According to the church's records, the title of this animal translates to "
the
hunter in the nightmare
"
Of the multiple unknowns surrounding the Lochkray,
the Sanok stands as one of their most intriguing
mysteries.  Recorded in only a few documents, the
Sanok appears to be a type of animal minion in the
employ of the Lochkray. However, much like the
physical technologies of the Lochkray, their
biological knowing is far more complicated that
anything previously perceived.

An animal in physical form, described as being an
unnatural abomination, it is unknown how the
Lochkray came to control these creatures.  Far
beyond any comprehension in regards to animal
behavior, the Sanok is capable of causing its prey to
fall into a deep hallucination, where it holds the
victim until it is able to approach and kill.

There are no clear descriptions of a Sanok, however
it is regularly referred to as a
dragon.  What few
renderings of the creature that exist, it appears to be
like a multi-tailed serpent, with arms, and a massive
head.  Stories of their existence became most
prevalent during the end of the
Order of the
Cimmerian Quest's campaign to exterminate the
Lochkray.
This drawing comes from the files of a psychiatric institute in North Bay,
Canada.  The artist, a patient at the hospital, claimed that this animal was
responsible for the deaths of 3 people in the forests of northern Ontario in
the late 1990's.
According to the hospital records, she claimed that the animal was
controlled by a "vampire-type" of person.  This drawing was intended as a
part of her therapy.
